A Dream Closed to Shadow
Hold your heart at dawn to mine, love,
and both will defeat the light,
like a curtain swaying in the hall
against the heavy wall of noise.
I’m waiting: a blue night of dream
that cuts the thread of darkness
with the calmness of white jasmine,
spreading its scent and color endlessly.
Love—because of it, hold me to a pure moment,
to the embrace of life that beats in your breast,
with the hidden wings of a submerged swan.
So that our dream might reply
to the rocks questioning the sand,
with one key, one door, closed to shadow.
